Zbigniew Janowicz, Ph.D. -- Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Janowicz holds a Ph.D in Biochemistry. He was one of the co-founders of Rhein Biotech GmbH in 1985 and laid the foundation for the Hansenula polymorpha technology platform and the successful hepatitis B franchise of the Rhein Biotech GmbH group. From 1996 until 1999, Zbigniew served as R&D Director in the tissue repair business of Curative Technologies. He rejoined Rhein Biotech GmbH in 1999 where he held the position of R&D Director for the Rhein Biotech Group.

 

Dr. Oliver Bartelsen, Ph.D. – Senior Director Industrialization

Dr. Bartelsen holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry. He joined Rhein Biotech GmbH in 1999 as a project leader of a network-program for the development of alternative industrial expression systems. Simultaneously, he managed the acquisition of contract services and licensing-in of technology platforms. In 2002 and 2003, Dr. Bartelsen was International Project Manager for the development and registration of a EU-GMP compliant thiomersal-free hepatitis B vaccine. During 2004 his activities included the responsibility for global business development industrialization within the Berna Group. In September 2004, Dr. Bartelsen assumed responsibility for business development, industrialization and project management at Rhein Biotech GmbH.
